Conventions are the mecca for geeks and is that one time we all get together to be super social. But going to conventions can have a lot of pitfalls that can scare off the inexperienced. And frankly, there are a few tidbits that experience conventioneers could stand to pickup (like take a freakin’ shower). For this episode, we got Lark Anderson of gamespot.com to come give us the tips on going to conventions. He’s been to a lot and knows the ins and outs. Enjoy!

Great stuff again.
Couldn’t agree more about cons. I’ve been to the Tokyo Game Show the past 3 years. I can’t count how often I’ve waited in line for an hour to try “Coolest New Game of 200x” having to hold my breath because the person in front of me might melt at the slightest touch of water. However, some of the cos-players I’ve seen were well worth it. There were about ten one year dressed as characters of MGS including soldiers with “!” or “?” over their heads. Plus Snake was dead-on. TGS can be so crowded you literally can’t move, but the sights, sounds and overall experience are well worth it.

BTW: Good luck at GDC Ryan. Your video demos look awesome.

Yay, cons!

Something to say?
